Day 15: Too Much Fun

Okay, we have seriously had the time of our lives today...so much fun, & so memorable!!!

So, after our Night Shift ended, we caught up with family members, etc., Julie, Chantal, Jordan & I went to the "Gym/Pool", & swam for an hour+ or so. (Unfortunately, Jordan was behind the camera, so we don't have a picture of her!!)
Afterwards, we decided to go to the Victoria Mall, where we walked from one end to the other, ate lunch, did a little shopping, withdrew money from our accounts, etc.
Julie, Jordan, & Chantal on the Sky Bridge heading to the Victoria Mall
We had good reason to take the Sky Bridge this time, instead of crossing the CRAZY street below, where pedestrians do NOT have the right of way!!
We have mostly eaten the Philippine diet thus far, & so decided to get pizza for lunch, which was a treat. Coke is the drink of choice here in the Philippines, & is served with everything, & so we were told that with our pizza, some coke came with it, but we were NOT expecting what we got served with:
A coke dispenser-intimidating!!
In our family, the only times we drink pop is at weddings, parties attended, New Years, & a very rare occasion--very rare. (Our carbonated drinks of choice are most definitely Root Beer, Ginger Ale, Sparkling Apple Cider, or Old-Fashioned Sodas.)
Personally, I have never cared for Coke or Pepsi, but FYI, the Coke here is nothing like that at home. It's hardly sweet & not extremely carbonated, so though I definitely do NOT want to make this a regular thing, the Coke here is actually good!! (Pepsi on the other hand here, is very sweet, & disgusting. :d)

I had been home hardly an hour, when Lydia, Annie, & Stephanie decided they needed to go to the Mall, so for the 2nd time today, I went to Victoria Mall!!! This time however, we chose to walk (instead of take a Tricee/Pedicad) to the Mall, which was fun.

We had been told much about "Hala-Hala", which is a Filipino dessert. It is essentially an icy mixture, with layers of beans, fruit, oats, gelatin pieces, potato ice cream (delicious), pastes, UFO's, Creme, etc. but much more complicated. ;) It was definitely interesting...though to me, it was quite flavorless as a whole, though the others. disagreed. :)
Here we are waiting for our "Hala-Halas".

Purple Potato Ice cream, red & green jellies, etc.
We were almost done, when a college-aged Filipina came up to us, selling Peanut Rolls to get the money to go to college. Here are the girls with their 'Cigars', as I like calling them. ;d
Afterwards, we walked throughout the whole Mall (making it a total of 4 times I've traveled through it today!), trying to get an idea of what all exactly is in the Mall. If I haven't explained so before, the Vic. Mall is 2 floors, & is in the shape of a splayed fishhook or a weird U. That's just the "hall". :D

One part that we took interest in, was the PetCo shop on the top floor. Here are samples of what we saw (minus the fish....everyone knows what they're like. :D).
Lizards
Long-haired Guinea Pig (everytime I took a picture w/ flash, he would jump.
They also had some puppies, rabbits, & mice there. I took some short videos of them, which you can see HERE.

Afterwards, we went to the Grocery Store again, & got misc. items.
At Checkout
We were really confused by this: Does it mean we can ONLY use CC's at these counters (not cash), or that CC's will only be accepted at these counters (not any others)????
My ankle has been acting up off & on the last few days, & did so when walking to/from the Mall, & somehow, the Lydia convinced me to have Annie piggyback me 3/4 of the way home!!! I couldn't believe that she carried me for SO long without her back breaking!! I promised her a good back rub tonight, poor girl!!! It was pretty funny, because we had so many taxis & tricees stopping asking if we wanted to go with them, but we kept trudging on home!!! Definately the memory maker!!!
This was parked right next to our House/MMC....cool, eh??? (notice the green car behind it. :))

When we got home, the Pearl vendors were back, & we had fun finishing up transactions with them.
Then, after dinner, Stephanie, the Barnett girls, & I spent the rest of the evening (the other girls were either busy or on Shift) singing Camp Songs, reminiscing, sharing testimonies, talking about our potential futures :), & having a wonderful time fellowshipping together as Sisters in Christ.

I can't believe how fast this last week has flown by!!! Tomorrow is Sunday!!! Well, I have to work Day Shift tomorrow, & am hoping to go to Church in the afternoon....I suppose we'll see!!!
