Belize Mission Opportunity

Since 2004, our church has been sending teams to serve the people in Belize, Central America, specifically working with the Roaring Creek Church and Kindred Spirit Camp, outside of Belmopan on the Belize River.

I have been interested in ministering down there as well, but other mission trips or priorities have prevented me from going thus far. After much prayer, and continual releasing it to the Lord this past summer, God has opened the doors completely for my sister Rachel and I to join a team of 31 people going down to Belize from January 1st - 15th, 2014.
Our church has a unique opportunity to minister to these people, because we have continued to go back and serve the same area each trip. This allows us to
build relationships with the people living there and also tailor the time spent to most effectively reach, encourage, and disciple them in the areas they see need; specifically spiritual growth and development.

This year, we plan to minister by providing afternoon Children's Ministry, Counseling Ministry for Church Leaders, Pastor's and Pastor's Wives Seminars, Women's Ministry, and Men's Meeting and Barbecue.
We will also be doing several projects, including Home Remodel, Restroom Facility and Cabin Upgrades, Fence Repair/Replacement, and a 40'x40' concrete slab at the Kindred Spirit Camp, which is used for Christian camping ministry, Trades For Life vocational school, and retreats and conferences for the local church.

This makes a VERY full schedule, and has proven to be exhausting, but as Yahweh's children, we can do all things through His Strength and by His Power.
Even though this is something I've wanted to do for quite a while now, I have had some apprehension also, mostly because it is much different than any other mission trip I have been a part of, as in the past they have been primarily Medically/Spiritually-focused.

God truly hears our heart's cries, as part of our planning preparations were to sign up/get assigned main tasks to do while there. Up-to-date, I am set to head up the house cleaning and laundry effort, help with meal preparations and medical support, VBS, remodel, and other various tasks. This is a blessing, as "behind-the-scene" work is very comfortable for me.

Rachel is really excited for this trip, as her passion is working with kids (she is currently working in Oklahoma City with In The Gap with Daniel, David, and Samuel, teaching Character in the Public Elementary Schools and doing After-School Bible Classes), and so is especially excited to minister to the young people in Belize through VBS.
We Need You To Help Us: Only by God's help and your prayers can we accomplish as a team the work set before us.
Pray that we might prepare effectively to open our mouths boldly and make known the mystery of the Gospel, and that we might edify all those around us in patience and love (Ephesians 6:18-20), and help meet their physical and spiritual needs.

We Covet Your Prayers, Specifically:
– For the people we minister to--that they would be ready and willing to learn.
– For us as a team--that we would have unity.
– For us as we serve God--that we would have strength, grace, wisdom, discretion, and hearts to learn and grow.

Our personal funds ($1,600) are already raised, and due to God's blessings on our team's fundraising efforts, our team has raised over $9,000.00 of the $14,000.00 needed for construction supplies and seminar materials. However, donations would be appreciated!!

We would like you to Partner with us in this mission. We would love to hear from you--feel free to leave a comment, or contact us through my  "Email Me" button.
